DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL

This webinar will describe the human rights-based approach for patient –centered tuberculosis (TB) care and highlight the power of the words we use while caring for patients. Strategies for reducing stigmatizing language will be shared, as well as for empowering those affected by TB to share their voices.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This webinar is designed for physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who are involved in the diagnosis and management of TB patients. Please note this webinar is for attendees in the United States only. OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe the human rights-based approach for patient-centered TB care
  • Assess one's use of language and its implication during interactions with TB patients
  • Share best practices for reducing stigmatizing language and empower patients to share their voices for TB

There is limited space for the webinar and acceptance will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants at the same location are encouraged to view the webinar as a group. Each site must identify a contact person to register, receive webinar information, submit a sign-in sheet, and share the link to the online evaluation.

Notification of acceptance and additional information will be sent via email.
